Highway Made Of Glass (Hammer, featuring Glenn Burtnick)

Highway Made Of Glass
Written by Ivona Reich & Jan Hammer
Lead vocals by Glenn Burtnick

Raindrops and moonlight
Gather on a highway made of glass
I’m driving all night
Thinking of the different years that passed

I found that my love
You remain the true and only one
Guiding star bright
Clear as water running through the grass

Times that we had to be so far apart
Sometimes we couldn’t even talk
You know that life together can be hard
And yet you found a way to make it work but

I forgot to tell you
And at times I couldn’t even try
How strong is my love
Evergreen that reaches for the sky

Highway made of glass

Raindrops and moonlight
Shining like the colors in your hair
How high is my love
High above the castles in the air

Times that we had to be so far apart
Sometimes we couldn’t even talk
You know that life together can be hard
And yet you found a way to
Make it all work out

And I’m smiling
Driving fifty five while I should fly
Strong is my love
Evergreen that reaches for the sky

Interpretation

Driving on a rainy, moonlight night, I'm thinking of how much I love you.  It's hard being apart, but you are beautiful just like the beauty I see outside. Sharing life with someone is difficult, but we've made it work, and I can't wait to get home.
