Poster Girl [Helmet Boy, featuring Glenn Burtnick]

Poster Girl

I can't sleep 'cuz the neon's flashing thru my bedroom window
Illuminates the face that every night I want so badly
She's an unreal reality, plastered on the billboard sign
Just some sexual commodity
Now every guy in town's been looking you over
And you've been staring back from every magazine cover

Look, it's my poster girl
Just look, she's so out of this world
Look, she's coming off the wall tonight
She's my poster girl, poster girl, I want you.

If must be my imagination, her lips move in my direction,
"Kiss me, baby, but don't mess up my makeup,
And don't ask for my telephone number
It's in your head where I exist
Bet you got my whole collection"
Yeah, I know her, every inch, curve and line,
And I'll be home tonight wishing she was mine.

Look, it's my poster girl
Just look, she's so out of this world
Look, she's coming off the wall tonight
She's my poster girl, poster girl, I want you.

I gotta grow up and face the world
But she never changes that poster girl
I wonder if she's got the same problems like me.
She's my poster girl (she's the one, yes she is)
Poster girl (she's the one, yes she is)
Poster girl, c'mon yeah! She's my poster girl.

Interpretation

I can't stop thinking about the girl in the poster on my bedroom wall.  What would life be like with her?  I imagine her talking to me.  Still, I have to live the real world, but I enjoy the fantasy.
