Look at yourself in the mirror
Whatever happened to you?
I see a little girl caught in a mixed up world
Are you happy with the things that you do?
Oh - I won’t be your stepping stone, oh, this time you’re on your own and you’re

Scattered shattered, driving too fast
You’re heading for nowhere - both feel on the gas
Scattered shattered living a lie
So come on and kiss me one kiss goodbye

You’re the life of the party - you’re the beat that don’t stop
Do those lines on the bars, associate you with the stars
Or is it sleeping your way to the top?
Oh - banging on that door of fame
Come morning they won’t remember your name
You’re so scattered

Scattered shattered, driving too fast
You’re heading for nowhere - both feel on the gas
Scattered shattered living a lie
So come on and kiss me one kiss goodbye

Get me out here, somebody get, someone get me out
Don’t need no girl who thinks she’s so so fine

Been to four corners of the square - there’s nowhere left to hide
You’re gonna have to stop and face the monster that’s inside
I’m talking to you out there tonight
I’m talking to you - you heard me right
Those lips are sweet, they ask for more
But I can’t stay around when I see that you’re so scattered

Interpretation

You are no longer the sweet girl I know.  Take a look at yourself.  The "lines on the bars" (cocaine) might be what some of the movie stars do, but this won't get you there. Sleeping around won't get you to the top, "banging on the door to fame".  No one will remember your name after a one night stand.  You're living fast and loose, and it's all just a lie.
