Love Me Tonight [James Young]

Love Me Tonight
Written by James Young
Lead Vocals by James Young

You're a mystery to me now
But I see you smilin'
Out of the corner of my eye

I know you're tryin'
To find some company and
Maybe pass some time
Friends seem so hard to find

Say you're lonely, it's not hard to see
Come on with me and fly for free
Say you're confused, got nothin' to lose
Your mind resists but you can't refuse

Love me tonight
Not tomorrow
Passion ignites
You and me
Love me tonight
Till the morning
Make it alright
For me

Just like the waves which wash
So endlessly upon the sands
I will show you
Timeless wonderlands, come on

Love me tonight
Not tomorrow
Spirits unite
You and me, like
Meteorites
Burning brightly
Passion ignites
You & me
Love me tonight

Interpretation

I know you are looking for someone to spend the night with. You need a friend, but I have another idea. Let's just have a fling tonight.

JY: "This one was actually written at the end of the 'City Slicker' sessions, and was definitely inspired by my love of Pink Floyd and my collaboration with Jan Hammer. I certainly learned a lot from Jan. I really like music with a lot of dynamics, and this one is probably my best to date in that vein -- and Willie Wilcox and Colin Hodgkinson really kicked butt on this one."
