Love At First Sight

Driving past your house again
I feel the same way I did then
I get weak, just thinking about you
It all began so easily
A look from you a glance from me
Then our eyes met like thunder & lightning
You and I, strangers lost in a moment
Eye to eye
We were caught unaware of the passion inside us
Love at first sight
I know that this can't be happening
No, not to someone like me
Love at first sight
So rare, and so exciting
I only hope this love we found can last
I'm not a man who acts this way
But lately I can't concentrate
And I don't sleep, just dreaming about you
I try to reach you on the phone
But voices there say you're not home
And my heart aches, thinking I've lost you
One more time, seeing your face in the moonlight
One more chance to be caught unaware
Of this passion inside us
Love at first sight
I know that this can't be happening
No, not to someone like me
Love at first sight
It's hard to keep your balance
Moving past the point of no return
If you need some time
To understand your feelings
If you need some time away
I'll be waiting for you
With open arms my love
All that night
We made love in the moonlight
Eye to eye
We were so unaware of the passion inside us
Love at first sight
I know that this can't be happening
No, not to someone like me
Love at first sight
So rare, and so exciting
I only hope this love we found can last
Interpretation
This is a beautiful story of falling in love.
Driving past your house again, I feel the same way I did then. I get weak, just thinking about you. It all began so easily: A look from you a glance from me, then our eyes met like thunder & lightning. You and I, strangers lost in a moment. Eye to eye, we were caught unaware of the passion inside us.
Driving past her parents' house years after they are married and have children, he remembers when they first met and fell in love. It happened quickly, first a quick glance, followed by a conscious gaze into each others' eyes. It would soon bloom into something much more.
I'm not a man who acts this way, but lately I can't concentrate. And I don't sleep, just dreaming about you. I try to reach you on the phone, but voices there say you're not home. And my heart aches, thinking I've lost you.
This is what it can feel like falling in love. To have it happen after only a short time would be confusing. You can't concentrate and can't sleep because she's always on your mind. If you try to call and she's not home you wonder if she's just avoiding you, afraid she doesn't feel the same as you.
One more time, seeing your face in the moonlight, one more chance to be caught unaware of this passion inside us.
At that moment, he wants just one more chance to see her in the moonlight (a romantic setting made more powerful by a treasured memory).
It's hard to keep your balance, moving past the point of no return.
As you move quickly from attraction to infatuation, to true love, there is a point at which you cross a line after which you can never go back to just being acquaintances.
If you need some time to understand your feelings, if you need some time away, I'll be waiting for you with open arms, my love.
At the fragile early points in a relationship, it can be scary if feelings develop too fast. He realizes (and perhaps even tells her) that it's OK to take some time to process it all. He wants her to be sure, just as he is already sure. He will wait if needed.
All that night, we made love in the moonlight. Eye to eye, we were so unaware of the passion inside us.
This is where the memories of seeing her face in the moonlight were forever imprinted on his mind. They were no longer "eye to eye" from a distance.
Love at first sight. I know that this can't be happening, no, not to someone like me. Love at first sight. So rare, and so exciting. I only hope this love we found can last
Love at first sight seems like a fantasy from a Hallmark card or Disney movie, but when it happens it is remarkable ("So rare, and so exciting").
Beautiful Song and interpretation
