The city streets were breathing fire
A hot-bed for a million refugees
I could feel something was coming
Midnight struck and it was calling me

The fever ran high under black starlit skies
But you met my eyes and I knew
Right then I just knew

Tires screamed into the pavement
Smoke was rising in the sticky air
All around unfriendly faces
Who'd believe I'd ever find you there

Blood on the moon - gonna be alright soon
It feels like noon it's so hot
Place is so damn hot

Wild summer night
In the hard glow of neon light
Two hearts ignite
And I found you, in the wild summer night

Bet you came for some adventure
Bet you came to see the other side
A chance to find the unexpected
Take your world and rip it open wide

Or maybe you're here cause you've got to get near
To someone else here who wants it too
Ya I want it too

Wild summer night
In the hard glow of neon light
Two hearts ignite
I found you, I found you

In the wild summer night
And the heat climbed to a dizzy height
Like a dream taking flight
Me and you in the wild summer night

And I don't know if it's real
I just know how it feels
And it's feeling so right

You met my eyes and I knew
I just knew
In the wild summer night

Interpretation

It's amazing I ever found you when and were I did, but when I found you, it was love at first sight. It was so hot and humid out that steam rose from the pavement like it was on fire. The streets were full of people. Tires were screaming from the drag racing, with flames coming off the tires and smoke filling the air. I don't know why you showed up there, perhaps looking for adventure seeing how other people lived, but you came to the poor side of town, and when we met our hearts caught fire with passion. It's like a dream brought on from heat stroke, but I hope it's real. I just know it feels right.
