Baby Talk [The Falling Wallendas featuring Todd Sucherman]

Baby Talk

Baby met her sweetie pie
Made googly little lover's eyes
Do you love me, she'd reply
Cross my heart and hope to die

Baby bought a bungalow
With her daddy's wedding dough
Sweetie pie quit his job so
He could watch his favorite shows

Baby talk to
Baby talk to
Baby talk to
Baby talk to me

Baby let her sugar bear
Tie her to the rocking chair
Singed off all her baby hairs
Put her through an awful scare

Baby hid from her lamb chop
Carrying a riding crop
Cried but he refused to stop
Ripped her baby clothes right off

Baby talk to
Baby talk to
Baby talk to me

Rockabye my baby cakes
Cradle falls when the bough breaks
Into the baby blue lake

Baby talk

Interpretation

Lovers sometimes use baby talk when being intimate and playful.  In this case, the lovers get married and used the money her father set aside for the wedding to buy a house. Her husband quit his job and sits at home watching TV all day. She discovers that he is into S&M.  She lets him tie her to a chair, but then he singes her pubic hair with a cigarette. He chases her with a riding crop, which scares her, and when she asks him to stop, he refuses and rapes her. This reveals the darker side of Rock-a-bye Baby, where the bough breaks and the cradle falls.
