Interpretation

Clove Oil is an essential oil used for toothaches. It's effectiveness is disputed, so it would be too weak for bad toothaches. Demerol is a strong opioid that would be use for very acute and temporary pain, but not for dental pain. Even after surgery the only options used for dental pain are hydrocodone, oxycodone, and acetaminophen with codeine.  The girl may be suffering from a toothache, but she must have a problem with drug addiction if she's using Demerol. To watch someone you love waste away due to drug addiction is heartbreaking.
