Another [Glen Burtnik]

Just like a jaguar sun
You pull me down
Like panther wind
You twist me around

You own me hard and fast
I can't keep time
The guns in your eyes
They level at mine

In another life
Would we dance again?
Would we be here now and still be friends?

This electric fire
Would you recognize?
Would I see your eyes in someone?

When you look into the sky
Did you buy an apparition in the night
Before they fade I catch the light
In another lifetime

I'm drifting off the shore
You pull me in
The locus blooms but it's wearing thin
Whoa

In another life
Would I speak your name?
Would there be a prayer we'd meet again?
In a world of glass we could hide behind
Would I find you there in someone?

I wanna fly into the sky
I wanna fall 'til my body starts to cry
Somewhere beyond the words could find
In another lifetime

Would you cry?
Would you try?
If I died in the middle of the night
Would you be on the other side?
Would you be there?

In another life
Would we dance again?
Would it as be as now as it was then?

Still the wheels go round
Will it ever end?
Could we stop forever?

Would we be lovers?
In another

Whoa
In other lifetime

Yeah

Interpretation

When a couple argues, especially if it becomes more frequent and the relationship is starting to unravel, you start to wonder if this is the end and what if things had been different. If your spouse pulls you down like a jaguar or twists you around like a panther, it can seem hopeless. You may wonder what if you died, would she even cry?

But if you look hard, hope can found, such as being outside together on a beautiful starry night. You remember that she pulls you back to shore when you're drifting away (metaphorically).

Thinking about "what if" things were different, you can start to realize that you may never have met. Wouldn't that be worse, if you were never lovers?
