Any minute
Life is gonna change
And nothing ever really gonna be the same
So what you gonna do
When the reaper comes to call on you
Any minute
A terrorist could choose
To blow you clean out of your shoes
Thinking of the call
Any minute
Life is gonna get you so it really doesn't matter

Who's that man
(Sneakin' to the man, why is he hiding)
Why is he hiding
(Who is the man)
Determined to erase you
Momma should have taken him down

Any minute
Our women will cry out
Say what's this here shit all about
Any minute
That you can't have my son
Life is gonna get you, so it doesn't really matter

Who's that man
(Sneakin' to the man, why is he hiding)
Why is he hiding
(Who is the man)
Determined to erase you
Father should have taken him down

That common day when peace will reign
But up 'til then we must cry

Any minute
A baby will be born
The parents must fill out the form
Innocence will fade
Any minute
Life is gonna get you so it doesn't really matter

Who's that man
(Why is he hiding)
Hiding
(Shadows)
In the shadows
Father should have taken him down
Who is that man that's sneakin' to the man
Why is he hiding in the shadows
Who is the man determined to erase you
It just doesn't matter ‘cause you know you could be leaving
Any minute

Interpretation

We can't live our lives in fear of what might happen. We could die at any time, whether by a terrorist attack, a violent criminal, or just an accident. If someone breaks into your house and you end up dead, do you blame Mom or Dad for not shooting him first?  Young men die in war, and their mothers, wives, and girlfriends grieve, but they could just as easily die young at home. We don't know when our time will come, so we just need to live every day like it could be our last.
