Hey hey, yeah

I got loose from the ball and chain
Out from under the whipping cane
Only got myself to blame, mmm

Walk away if it's not your thing
This pertains to the civil rights
But I must admit, it's a shame

Now I have arrived
I've opened up my eyes
Like a baby child, I'm alive

You see black, I see white
Everything's going to be all right
I see red, you see green
Ain't no never mind about the in between
When you're color blind (color blind)

Sometimes the sun shines so bright
You wear shades to block out the light
You sit and wonder, can we be saved?
Well

I only know what I have learned
What I've learned to experience
What I figured out for myself

Now what makes you cry?
What makes you high?
What do you feel when you're alone?

Cause you see red, I see blue
Is that the difference 'tween me and you?
I see white, you see red
Got the full spectrum running through my head
Because baby (color blind)
We're color blind
Color blind
Hey hey hey, yeah
Whoo!

Well, I'm stuck here in a gambling town
A blind man's just looking around
I finally see the neon lights
They're turning up the kilowattage
White out any quiet thoughts
'Til there ain't no color left in sight

Makes you realize
Just how hypnotized
All of us really are
Yeah

Well, I see the world in black and white
Turn the darkness into sunlight
You see red, I see blue
Yeah, it's a little difference between me and you

You see silver, I see gold
Live forever and never get old
All at once true love I find
We're color blind (color blind)
Color blind, yeah
Interpretation

When you're racist, it's like being a prisoner being tortured, and you can only blame yourself. You can see so much more clearly when the color doesn't matter, and you can truly be free to love.
