So far, so bad
You are driving me mad
So low, so high
You know I can't deny
You're breaking my heart
Stealing my soul
Tore me apart
Now I lost control

You think you're so smart
But you've never been told
Love is an art
That can't be bought or sold
(Bought or sold)
Love is an art that can't be
Bought or sold

You plan, you scheme
You can follow your dream
No good, no fair
You could, but you just don't care

You're taking my heart
Stealing my soul
Tore me apart
Now I lost control
You think you're so smart
But you've never been told
Love is an art
That just can't be bought or sold
(Bought or sold)
Ah, love is an art that can't be
(Bought or sold)
(Bought or sold)

One day you'll find
You may crave peace of mind
No pain, no gain
Fast lane going insane
I say, okay
Go play or no other way

You give it your heart
And all of your soul
You tear it apart
Gotta rock and roll
You look at the start
You gotta be bold
And don't fall apart
'Cause you'll lose your hope
You're never too smart
Until you've been told
Love is an art that
Just can not be
Just cannot bought or sold

Interpretation

You treat love like it's a commodity, and you're breaking my heart in the way you treat me. Love can't be bought or sold and isn't something you can just turn on or off.  It requires sacrifice and commitment.
