Still Singin' With The Band

Back when we all hitched a free ride
We only came out at night
And love of the game kept us from going insane
We'd stay with our brothers and face the fight
Burning to ask me for money

Walking on fire and late wild nights
We were rocking the nation
To the finest sensation
Any true young blooded rocker will testify

Still living on the run
still singing with the band
still having my fun
And mama still don't understand

The king from the time a happy day
As the people keep shouting
For more, more, more
‘Cause when you pick up your stride
And what's left inside of a fire
Is the audience roar

Still living on the run
Still singing with the band
Still having my fun, fun, fun
Yeah, mama
Still living on the road
Still doing one night stands
Still having my fun, fun, fun
And I know that momma just don't understand

Change is a part of this journey
Stretch your colors all over the line
Right down to your smile
They'll try to copy your style
The rocking space age thriving in style

Still living on the run
Still singing with the band
I'm still having my fun, fun, fun
Yeah, momma
Still living on the run
Still doing one night stands
Still having my fun, fun, fun
Got everything I want
Everything I need
Everything is fine
But, you don't understand
Oh, you don't understand

Interpretation

When we first started as musicians, we had no money, so we went to our gigs in our friends' cars. We were out all night and slept all day. It was all a party.  We still travel around and play, always on the move and singing with the band.
