So many were the days when life seemed unbearable
Breathing in the haze that poisoned the air
Lost and alone it was so inhumane
In a twilight zone with the world gone insane

So little did we know, denying our ignorance
So little did we care in a cloak of indifference
See we were the ones who refused to believe
And now we'll see they'll be thеy'll be no reprievе

Oh so little did we know
Like zombies with flesh on our minds
Oh no no now where can we go
So little do we know

Seems the only way we learn is when it's the hard way
At the point of no return we still look away
Unable to face the truth or the facts
We start our vicious attacks, come what may
What's wrong with us? Oh, the price that we'll pay

We don't listen only speak 'cause, man, we know everything
Don't you mess with my beliefs when you don't know anything
Unwilling to change or even to bend
We lose our family and friends no compromise
When all reasons to reason are lost we lose all control
Oh so little did we know
Like vampires with blood on our minds
Oh no now where can we go
So little do we know

Can we still believe
Dare I even ask
Can we be same
Without this mask

And all these mysteries
That we must take on faith
Will they be revealed
Before it's far too late

Oh so little did we know
Like Satan with souls on his mind
Oh no now where can we go

So little do we know

Interpretation

How could we have anticipated that today we would be in an age where people will fight viscously on social media instead of just having polite conversations like we used to have or that people would listen to only one side of a story and act like they knew it all?  There have been days, especially since the COVID pandemic started when a deadly virus was in the air, where has seemed like life was too much to bear and the mood was just poisonous. We got too indifferent and now find ourselves here. People won't even listen to other viewpoints and ignore any facts that don't fit their narrative. Now we are suffering as a country as a result.  More and more people are finding themselves alienated from friends and family just because we can't have civil conversations about controversial topics.  Instead, we are like vampires looking for blood from their next victim. Can't we just listen more and talk less?  We need to drop our masks and just be ourselves around each other. There are many things we can't understand and have to take on faith until the day that God reveals more to us. It's hard to keep faith when we don't have answers, it's like being Satan looking for souls, which he might desire but can't get without God revealing it or someone dying in their sin without accepting Christ, when it's too late.
