The Same Stardust

The Same Stardust
Written by Styx

Cool down, walk away
Pull yourself together
Live to fight another day
Walk away, walk away from hate

My sisters, my brothers
Let's keep fighting for each other
You and me and those before us
We're all made from the same stardust

Tears, flames can drag you down
Want to fight every battle
Be wise, open up your eyes
Find your feet, walk away from me

My sisters, my brothers
Let's keep fighting for each other
You and me, even those before us
We're all made from the same stardust

If we could give enough
If we could sacrifice
Turn our backs on the things we cherish
'til our blood runs cold as ice

But we're not made that way
We can't be played that way
And we are not afraid
To speak our minds 'cause we're here to stay

My sisters, my brothers
Let's keep fighting for each other
You and me, even those before us
We're all made from the same stardust

The same stardust
The same stardust

Interpretation

It's unfortunate that we are divided along political and ideological lines in the USA and elsewhere around the world.  We need to fight for each other, not against each other. Sacrificing for the greater good is virtuous. We are all made of the same matter, all of equal value. We are fiercely independent as individuals, so we naturally want to do our own thing, but we need to remember that we are all formed of the same stardust (with the elements here on Earth having formed inside the cauldron of long dead stars - and according to Genesis 2:7, God used that dust to form each of us, so theists and atheists alike can agree on that).

Comments

  1. I will be glad to fight for my fellow man as long as his political ideologies align with mine. The Democrat party is evil. Liberalism is EVIL. Transgenderism is an evil mental illness. BLM is evil. Gays belong in the closet. Boys today are being raised as pussies. Etc etc
