We Lost The Wheel Again
Breaking down the lyrics verse by verse:
A baseball pitcher can throw a fastball 100 mph, not the speed of sound, but very fast. Holding the ball in his hand, finger twitching, he reflect on the battery's recent media comments calling him crazy and weak, so he let's go and hits the guy on purpose, just to show that he has the power.
Or possibly a fighter jet pilot, with his finger on the trigger of a bomb or missile pointed at the ground, remembering the public comments by the leaders of his adversary claiming his country is weak, pulls the trigger with thoughts of revenge for the attack that started the conflict.
More lost wages can't get it right
Back in the basement, back to school
You're so codependent on the golden rule
A drug addict gets back from rehab facing another sleepless night. He's missed work again, orovabky lost his job, and with no money moves into his parents' basement and goes back to school to get some training. He's relying on the good hearts of his parents to bail him out again.
You're wrapped up in your pain
And no one knows your name
And there's a light that you're running from
Behind the walls of what you have become
You're at the end of your rope, feeling like you're out of chances. You are lonely and suffering, running away from something possibly the very thing you need, having built a wall around yourself, afraid of failing again.
Oh Mother, we're on our knees again
Father, we're out of control. Mother, we're praying again like you taught us, realizing we are powerless to fix this ourselves.
